Veterinary Clinic

VetsSt Giles Veterinary Clinic is based at St Giles Animal Centre in Wrantage near Taunton. The practice has been set up to care for the boarding and rescue animals onsite; we are also open to the public for small animal consultations and surgery, by appointment only.

We look forward to welcoming clients, both old and new to the vet centre.

We offer a full list of professional services during our surgery opening times;

Monday – Friday 9 am – 6pm
Saturday 10am – 1pm

Our friendly, helpful staff are available throughout the day, ready to offer advice and information on all manner of topics related to your pet’s well being – whether it be because of illness or accident, preventative healthcare such as flea control, worming and nutrition, or advice on buying a new puppy, kitten or other pet.

Our Team

Sarah Bernasconi  BVSc  MRCVS

Veterinarian – Sarah is originally from Manchester, she qualified at Bristol University in 2007. Over the years she has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in the veterinary field. Sarah has a real passion for rescue animals and an interest in dog behaviour.

Sarah’s working days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and every other Saturday morning.

Nicola Newman BVSc MRCVS 

Veterinarian – Nicola qualified from Bristol University in 1986 with over 30 years of experience in the veterinary field there isn’t much Nicola hasn’t seen. Nicola also has a small holding that keeps her very busy and a passion for working dogs and horses. Nicola will be at the clinic on Wednesdays and every other Saturday morning.

                                                               Jack Linnell Dip A Phys, BSc (Hons), IAAT 

Jack is the Centre Manager at St Giles he previously managed the boarding Kennels for 5 years and has now taken over the management of the centre, mainly working from our Veterinary Clinic. Jack is also a qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist, registered with the Association of Animal Therapists (IAAT). Jack will perform treatments on small and large animals to improve mobility and performance, he also has an interest in post-operative rehabilitation, suitable for companion and high-level athletes.

Allison Sherlock RVN

Allison, our head nurse is very caring and a huge animal lover, with many of her own pets ranging from horses to dogs. Allison is a very experienced nurse, with many years nursing under her belt, she is always happy to offer advice and care for your pets.


Skye Gearty Student Veterinary Nurse

   Skye our student Veterinary Nurse is always on hand to offer a warm welcome and loves all animals great and small. Skye has a huge passion for cats and will often be found in her spare time assisting the socialising with the onsite rescue cats.
